350th Anniversary

The 350th anniversary of the deaths of Saint Vincent and Saint Louise has begun.  Celebrations evoke gratitude for the past, strengthen commitment to the present, and generate hope for the future.

As we celebrate the 350th anniversary of the deaths of Vincent and Louise, it is not so much their death that we want to remember, but the culmination of their lives that left a mark in history. They were both great prophets and icons of charity.

Did You Know?


Elizabeth Ann Seton was originally buried in the Sisters of Charity cemetery at Emmitsburg and re-interred in the mortuary chapel in 1846. Prior to Beatification, her remains were placed over the main altar at St. Joseph College chapel. In 1968, her sacred remains were moved to St. Joseph's Provincial House chapel, now known as the Basilica of Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton.
