The Seton Retreat and Conference Center, a ministry of the Daughters of Charity, offers a spiritual setting for individuals and groups. The environment is very inviting for both overnight group retreats and a conference during the day. Our center is easily accessible from the Washington/Baltimore area.

Guests and visitors may find that the surrounding hallowed grounds, warm hospitality, and nature setting will enhance the deepening of their spirituality and inner faith. The location of our facility and the setting at the foot of the picturesque Catoctin Mountains make it an ideal site for:

• Day or overnight retreats for adults and youth
• Retreats for groups or an individual
• Conferences, day meetings, training sessions, workshops

What You Can Expect On Retreat

Guest accommodations are available for an afternoon, a weekend, several days, or longer. Three daily meals are prepared on site as part of your retreat package and are served buffet style in the dining room. You also have the option to dine alone.

Our spacious meeting rooms and dining areas seat up to 100 people. Comfortable overnight accommodations are available with 75 bedrooms and 95 beds. Some of our rooms have two beds in one room.

At the end of the day and to quiet the mind take the opportunity to walk the winding paths throughout the hallowed grounds. Our picturesque courtyard offers yet another opportunity to relax and cleanse your mind. For a moment of prayer, contemplation, comfort, and meditation walk the Labyrinth. Inside you may visit the Marian Room display, stop for a moment of prayer in the Basilica or in one of our many meditation rooms, and check your email messages in our Samuel Cooper Computer Café. Several rooms onsite offer WiFi connections for your convenience.

Visitors to Emmitsburg can easily tour the nearby National Shrine of the Grotto of Lourdes, the Civil War Battlefield in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania, and all the many sights Gettysburg has to offer. In addition, the historic city of Frederick, Maryland, is approximately 20 miles away. More about area attractions...
