Villa Saint Michael &
Saint Vincent's Care Center
The Saint Vincent's Care Center and Villa Saint Michael minister to the retired Sisters in a loving and holistic manner to sustain and improve their health and well-being. The Villa communities are located on the grounds of Saint Joseph's Provincial House.
In the Villa communities, each Sister receives specialized care that meets her individual needs, both physically and psychosocially. Interaction between staff members and the Sisters encourage the sharing of a lifetime of memories. Spiritual needs are a priority, and efforts are made to ensure that the Sisters continue to be involved with their religious communities and in all religious services.
Saint Vincent's Care Center
Saint Vincent's Care Center is a skilled nursing facility with a capacity for 46 Sisters licensed by the state of Maryland and accepting Medicare and Medicaid funding. In addition to the Daughters of Charity, it serves the Sisters of Notre Dame de Namur and the Sisters of the Visitation of Holy Mary. An average stay may be long-term or short-term —for example, for a Sister to receive rehabilitation so that she can return to her mission or to the Villa. In addition to health care, the ancillary services are offered in-house to residents:
- Audiologist
- Podiatrist
- Beautician
- Pharmacist
- Dentist
- Psychotherapist
- Physical, Occupational, and Speech Therapies
- Special Dementia Programming
- Pool Therapy
- Transportation to all outside appointments
Villa Saint Michael
Villa Saint Michael is a supported living environment in which Sisters receive care on an individualized plan. Sisters are encouraged to be as active as they desire to be. Many volunteer in outside interests as well as throughout the Provincial House. Many opportunities are provided for outings, continued education and learning, entertainment, and other activities. As Sisters age, they struggle with the balance of active mission and a more contemplative life as they continue to fulfill a lifelong commitment to service and mission. Villa Saint Michael has a capacity for 60 sisters.
